- Abstract
Bottom trawling and all trawling national ban within 3 nautical miles from coast and < 50 m of depth.
Currently, the technical management measures adopted in Italy refer to Reg. (EC) 1967/2006. According to this regulation, technical measures related to the use of towed nets (trawl and quick) are
- Prohibition of fishing less than 3 miles from the coast or within the 50m isobath when
this depth is reached at a shorter distance from the coast. In any case, it is forbidden to use of towed nets within 1.5 miles from the coast is prohibited;
- Use of square-meshed netting with a minimum mesh size of 40mm in the codend or, from a 50mm rhomboid mesh (subject to prior notice).More data available Here
